Scientific Authority in Islam’s Political Thought

Abstract:
In Islam’s political thought, principles of “preserving Muslims’ dignity” and “negating domination of foreigners” are of especial importance. Scientific authority is an important necessity for those principles. This article is aimed at clarification of the process of scientific jihad and study of position and infrastructures of scientific authority in Islam’s political thought. Taking Islam’s political thought especially the supreme leader’s statements as the pivot of the article, authors have tried to first, clarify the concept of scientific jihad to achieve scientific authority and second, determine the position of scientific authority in Islam’s political thought and third, explain infrastructures of scientific authority such as “the truth of the religion of Islam”, “Islam and science”, “intellectual exchanges” and “the kingdom of science”.
